Major Donna
Corps Officer / Senior Pastor

I grew up in a small town in southern Ontario in a home with seven brothers and one sister, I was the baby!

I really didn’t know anything about God or church until I was in my teen years. My oldest brother went through a really tough time and tried to commit suicide, the Salvation Army was there to help my family. It was my first experience with The Salvation Army. As often is the case, when tragedy strikes my family turned to God for help. It was then that I learned that God loved me and that He hurts when we hurt and He is the One who can give us peace even in the midst of trials. I became a Christian, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and friend and I have never looked back. Life has its ups and downs but through it all Jesus is the only One who can help and give real joy. I want my life to count for God. It is a real joy to serve God through The Salvation Army.

I am truly blessed with a wonderful husband and three great children. I am also a proud grandmother of six awesome kids! I love crafts of any kind and in particular scrapbooking.

I attended Word of Life Bible College in the United States, the Salvation Army training College and have taken courses in Pastoral Counselling.

One of my favorite Bible verses is,

Zechariah 3:17

The Lord your God is with you.
He is a hero who saves you.
        He happily rejoices over you,
            renews you with his love,
and celebrates over you with shouts of joy.
