We are spiritual beings (“religious” or not) and we all need support at times in order to succeed in life. Food & other assistance
Sometimes the month lasts longer than your money. The food bank provides assistance to people unable to afford basic necessities.
In order to give you the attention that you deserve and to avoid a crush of people on busy days, we ask that you make an appointment by clicking here.
If this will be your first time visiting our program, we ask that you bring the following to your appointment:
– ID for all members of the family (related adults at the same address are considered to be one family)
– Proof of all sources of income for all family members (including child tax benefit)
– Rent or mortgage receipt
Community Lunch
Mondays 12:00-1:00 PM (except on public holidays):
A free lunch for anyone in the community made by caring and qualified volunteers.
The lunch program is not currently operating due to Covid-19 restrictions

Do your children have a better chance than you did? Are you concerned about the basics that you need for you and your family? You can take the first step today by joining The Pathway of Hope. We can help you navigate your way through challenges to a better future. To get there, a caseworker will be by your side to design a plan around your individual goals and strengths.

Children’s Summer Camp
Applications are now open for the 2022 camping season
The Salvation Army Ontario Camping Ministry operates two camps throughout the summer, Blaze at Jackson’s Point for ages 6-9 and Newport for ages 10-16 near Huntsville in Muskoka.
Families that cannot afford the full fees may request financial assistance during the application process but are encouraged to contribute whatever amount they are able to afford. Subsidies are only intended for those who would not be able to attend without financial assistance.

This application is only for the York Community Church Christmas Assistance Program – applicants with addresses beginning with the following postal codes: M6A, M6B, M6L, M6M, M6N, M9A, M9N, M9P.
Please note that we will not be giving out food or grocery vouchers.
