Community & Family Services Coordinator

I was born in a Muslim family in the suburbs of Kampala City the capital city of Uganda with my big sister and other close relatives where it’s really risky to raise up a child but we were raised as an extended family.

My parents divorced when I was just two years old, but because my mother came from a Christian background, my religious faith was based on Christianity.  All my education I went to Christian schools.

While in high school, a Pastor asked me to visit his papyrus demarcated church in one of the ghettos nearby.  It’s from this time I gave my life to Jesus after the Pastor’s preaching clearly explained who a Born-Again was compared to a religious person. He said, “A Born Again is that one who follows Jesus Christ after acknowledging that he came to die for our sins and this explains why we are Born Again, and a religious person will always believe and have faith in other gods.” This message was really touching, and I started preaching the gospel to my family members, some of whom accepted Jesus though others never believed in my preaching because of my age.

From then all the way, I have always asked the Holy Spirit to guide me for my path because I believe and know “With God all things are possible.”

I got a chance to work with World Vision Uganda after my studies and this was a great platform for me to preach the gospel since my role was to reach out to the needy, destitute and poverty-stricken. It was a challenging opportunity but with God’s grace, faith was always restored.

I have been blessed with three children two beautiful girls and one handsome soul with my adopted daughter. Glory be to the Almighty.

I learnt about the Salvation Army after I was invited by a Muslim friend who was a volunteer at York Community Church. The love and care in this place attracted me back especially when I also learnt there was also a Born-Again church.

I am currently in my final stages of completing my soldiership classes and I have always wanted to be a part of the Mission and Goals of the Ministry.

Always remember God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, and shall he nor do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he nor make it good?
